50 YEARS FACULTY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Mechanical Engineering is one of oldest, broadest, and best-established of the engineering disciplines.

Simultaneously, the discipline is also constantly changing and evolving in response to new scientific discoveries and societal needs. The Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at the University “Ss Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje reflects the old-yet-new character of the discipline itself.
The Faculty offers a variety of study programs, which comprise disciplines from both the fundamental engineering sciences that represent the core of mechanical engineering, and the modern scientific disciplines dedicated to engineering analyses and concepts younger than two decades.

All of the new study programs are created in accordance with the European higher education system and the scientific achievements. They are closely related to the Faculty’s basic mission-to provide high standards in education of highly competent and skilled engeneers with competences and skills, competitive on the global labor market.

This year, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering celebrates its 50 Anniversary. Since the foundation of the Faculty, we have awarded a great number of bachelor, master and doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering. We are proud to say that all of them are now successful and respected professionals. Many of them are leaders of world famous companies or have started their own business and, using the competencies and the knowledge gained from the studies at our Faculty, they have created companies that rank very high on the international market.

The teaching staff, responsible for the success of the students, is consisted of distinguished educators and professionals. They have been active participants in many national and international educational, scientific and applicative projects. Most of them have worked as visiting professors at notable universities all over the world. Taking part in important conferences and congresses, publishing their research accomplishings in renowned professional periodicals and using prestigious international scholarships, they are constantly working on their professional and personal development. Besides the important role that they have in education, the members of our teaching staff are known in the industry as experts.

The professors and the collaborators of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Skopje are ready to take the challenges that the new technologies bring and to follow their mission to give their contribution to educate mechanical engineers whose visions, expertise and talents will lead to development of the society; engineers who will be prepared for the process of lifelong learning as the main challenge of the 21st century and in that way help the process of the Euro-atlantic integration of the Republic of Macedonia.
